As an employer, your people are your greatest assets!
They are human beings with feelings, emotions, cycles, diagnoses, families, and a world of stresses outside the workplace, not to mention the ones that are baked into your corporate culture!
Historically, chaplains in the workplace serve many functions.
We are a ministry of presence in times of need. We LISTEN, we pray (when appropriate) with people needing a human connection. We can be a trusted and confidential sounding board to just let your people get things off their chest… and remind them that it’s all going to be OK, because there is a God who sees them.
We can minister regardless of religious affiliation. The love of God in action is not proselytization in the workplace. It’s listening, it’s helping, it’s educating and connecting with needed services, with no agenda, and no judgment.
Our presence lets them know that you care.
We are trained in individual and group crisis management. With the death of an employee, accidents in the workplace, or cases where a grieving employee becomes less functional at work, we can intervene to promote order, peace, forgiveness, hope and support. All things that will keep your employees emotionally and spiritually healthy–two areas commonly overlooked by many employers.
For business owners and HR directors, we provide an optional added (ombudsman-type) service of process and culture improvement. While we will carefully walk the balance of confidentiality, we can report on issues that are repeatedly brought to light concerning your corporate culture, and even procedures that damage relationships, erode trust, or create stress in the workplace. Employees can get the improvements they need without being flagged as a troublemaker or complainer. Processes can be improved by reports to managment that preserve confidentiality while still affecting needed change. And management can get informed of issues that they didn’t even know existed. It’s a win-win for all.
